The Arctis Nova 5X is worth considering if you want one wireless headset for several gaming systems and mobile listening.
A compact USB-C dongle supports a broad platform mix, while quick switching between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth makes it practical to move between game audio and a phone call or media.
Its 60-hour battery specification and app-based presets make it a strong feature set for players who value longer sessions and tailored game audio.
The tradeoff is that the headset asks you to choose between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth rather than offering the simultaneous mobile mixing described for some other headsets.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you want one headset that spans Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, and mobile devices.
The USB-C dongle and switchable wireless modes suit a setup where you move between a console or computer and phone listening.
It also fits players who care about game-specific audio options and long intervals between charges.
The companion app provides more than 100 presets, while the battery supports up to 60 hours and a 15-minute USB-C charge adds six hours of use.
Who should skip it
Skip it if you need game and phone audio mixed simultaneously: its wireless control toggles between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes. If simultaneous mixing is central to your setup, choose a headset with that feature explicitly supported.
If your decision depends on verified microphone performance in wind, assess that use case before buying; the microphone specifications do not answer it.
Arctis Nova 5X: Platform Flexibility, Battery, and Audio
One headset across platforms
The platform range is a central reason to consider this model. Xbox support appears alongside PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, and mobile devices, with the compact USB-C dongle serving as the connection point.
That breadth makes sense for households or players who rotate among several systems; check that your own setup matches the listed compatibility before buying.
Battery life and charging
The 60-hour battery target suits extended use between charges, and USB-C fast charging offers six hours of use after 15 minutes.
Treat those figures as planning guidance: actual runtime can depend on how the headset is used, and the fast-charge detail does not remove the need to charge it eventually.
Presets and sound controls
The companion app's more than 100 game presets give players a way to tailor audio for named titles, while the headset's ChatMix control is intended to balance game and chat audio.
These are practical tools for people who like adjusting a setup, though preset availability does not guarantee a preferred sound for every player.
Wireless switching and calls
A button switches the connection between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3, and notification beeps can flag incoming calls during gameplay.
This arrangement is convenient for changing use, but buyers who expect phone audio to play alongside game audio should confirm that the mode-switching design meets their needs.

Read Amazon ReviewsSteelSeries Arctis Nova 3P Wireless
Consider the Nova 3P if mobile-app controls, a larger preset count, and its fast-charge arrangement suit your priorities. Choose the Nova 5X if Xbox compatibility and its 60-hour battery specification matter more.
- The Nova 3P Wireless offers mobile-app controls, more than 200 game presets, fast charging that adds up to nine hours in 15 minutes, and up to 40 hours from a full charge.
- The Nova 5X combines support for Xbox and several other platforms with a 60-hour battery and more than 100 game audio presets.
Is Arctis Nova 5X Worth It?
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X is worth considering if you want broad platform support, Xbox compatibility, more than 100 game audio presets, and a long stated battery life in one wireless headset.
Its USB-C dongle, retractable microphone, and on-headset controls make for a feature-rich setup.
Buy it if those features align with how you play and switch devices.
Look elsewhere if you need simultaneous Bluetooth and game-audio mixing, or if your purchase depends on microphone performance in windy conditions; its wireless controls switch modes, and the microphone specifications do not settle that outdoor-use question.
